We're excited to have you join us on our journey as we transform the former quarry into a 480 acre recreational park.

Our Mission:  To develop, operate and maintain a park and recreational system which enriches the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, while being stewards of the land which preserves the legacy of Colfax for future generations.

About Us

The Colfax Park North Park was donated by Martin Marietta in April of 2014 to the City of Colfax, IA.  It was formerly a sand & gravel quarry and was no longer a profitable quarry and sat vacant.  Several community members approached the company and discussions began to have the auxillary park board and eventually the city of colfax acquire the park.

We're currently working with the architecture firm Confluence to create a master plan for the park with many stakeholders to provide input on the vision of the park.

Check out our page for monthly updates on what's happening at the park!

Get Involved

We would love to have you join our monthly park board meetings.  We're always looking for more people to join our vision of transforming the park.

Watch our social media sites for our next workday at the park and fish afterwards!

This is our storage for park board bylaws and agreements with the city of Colfax.

You can also find our monthly meeting minutes.  Find out what decisions are being made and join us for our next meeting!
